Ornamental Petal : New Identity, Business Cards, & Site for a New Year

Just thought I would share Ornamental Petal’s spiffy new business card, and revised logo! (Not to mention their new and improved, with more cleaning power, site!)

With this identity, we wanted to keep a good balance between vintage and clean, modern style. The faint, patterned layer that you see is actually a spot varnish layer on the matte cards. So these areas are glossy, which really make them stand out from the crowd.

On a bit of a tangent:

Over the last three years I’ve worked with the talented Bridget Kelly and I think her logo has grown only a fraction as much as the diversity of her work. We actually met at a wedding we were both working; I think I was drooling over some delightfully tall, twiggy thing, when we first chatted. An arrangement in her most recent work (bottom of the first page of her ‘wedding arena’) made me feel like I was a woodland gnome that had stumbled upon a lavender mushroom patch. I don’t know why, but I could not stop starring at it! I love that although she has an aesthetic style, she really brings through the personality of the event in her work. I also know she bounces around dancing to NPR, with her dogs meandering about while she works on arrangements-so maybe that is where the boundless amount of inspiration comes from. Hum; maybe it’s time for me to go find some dogs and some good ol’ public radio to move to…

Teaser of Our Self-Mailing, New Year Cheeriness

Here is a little nugget of goodness from our New Year send outs. More complete info when they go out, but thought I’d put up a little something to make the anticipation unbearable. Alright, so maybe not unbearable, but more fun, for sure. This image is a ‘hidden’ part of our self-mailer that we’ll be sending out; shoot over your address if you’d like to receive one! We’re excited to send them out and are happy to get one your way. Happy Holidays and safe travels to anyone moving about this weekend!

{ W } : Kristen + Mikeal : Goose Bump Aftershocks

Today, I feel this wedding needs few words, so will let you get to the images. (Which there are quite a few as it’s one of our last weddings of the season, so had to splurge a bit. Click on the second page there at the bottom to see the last few.) They were so focused on each other, they didn’t have much left to focus on us-just how we like it. We hope you enjoy the beauty in their sneaky whispers and unfiltered emotions; I know we are still getting goose bump aftershocks from them.
